Frequently asked questions
What customers ask us most often, and what we tell them on the phone.
What makes a bouquet high-end?
A high-end bouquet is recognised by its immediate visual impact, before anyone counts the flowers. At L’Atelier d’Olivier, six things define it:
- The calibre of the blooms — wide heads, selected from the professional market’s daily arrivals
- Long, straight stems, which give the bouquet its height
- Controlled density, packed at the heart and looser at the edges
- Precise construction, where the movement looks natural without ever being so
- A considered colour accord, settled before assembly
- Lasting hold: the bouquet keeps its shape where others sag after two days
The difference is not simply a matter of how many flowers there are. It lies in the calibre of the heads, the proportion of the volumes and the florist’s hand. It is also why we name our bouquets by colour rather than by a list of flowers: the colour is guaranteed, the composition follows the season and the morning’s market. You order an accord, and the florist interprets it with the finest he has that day.
Then there is the journey, which is no detail: a bouquet must arrive with the presence it had when it left the workshop. Our packaging is built to hold the volume and keep the flowers fresh right to the door.
What bouquet sizes are available?
L’Atelier d’Olivier offers its bouquets in sizes S, M, L, XL, XXL and 3XL. The quality of the flowers is identical from one size to the next; only the volume changes.
The surest guide is still the hand:
- S, M and L — carried in one hand. L is the most frequent choice: real presence, balanced density.
- XL and above — need both hands. The room changes atmosphere the moment you set it down.
The rose bouquets open a wider scale still, from ten to five hundred roses. Ten and twenty roses fit in one hand; from thirty to a hundred, you carry them in two; beyond two hundred, the bouquet is taken in your arms, and it is the room that gets rearranged around it.
The right size is the one that matches what you have to say. Large bouquets are the ones people are glad of longest.
Which roses does L’Atelier d’Olivier use?
The rose bouquets of L’Atelier d’Olivier are built from large-headed varieties, chosen for their bud and their staying power:
- Red Naomi or equivalent for red roses
- Avalanche or equivalent for white roses
- Sweet Avalanche or equivalent for pink roses
The variety follows the market and the season; when it changes, it gives way to a rose of at least equal size and quality. These varieties stand out for the width of the bud, the density of the petals, the intensity of the colour and their life in the vase.
Rose bouquets come in red, white, pink and multicoloured, from ten to five hundred roses, with an optional high-end glass vase matched to the number you choose.
What does the shop offer?
Bouquets
One colour, one size, and the florist composes with the finest flowers of the day’s market. Rose bouquets form a section of their own.
Funeral
Sheaves, wreaths, hearts, sprays, cushions and casket covers. You give us the time of the ceremony and the kind of place — funeral home, church, crematorium, cemetery — and the delivery is set to it. It is the only section where we work to the hour.
Creations
Arrangements built stem by stem in a fine container. Each flower is placed one at a time, which takes longer than a tied bouquet: the piece arrives ready to set down and holds its shape, with no vase and nothing for the recipient to do.
Everlasting
Dried and preserved flowers, in three palettes. They last for years without care and sit as well in a contemporary interior as in a classic one. This is the gift that stays in view long afterwards.
Plants
Exceptional potted orchids, from two to six stems, in white or pink.
How does delivery work?
L’Atelier d’Olivier delivers across France and Monaco, seven days a week. Order before 12 pm and same-day delivery is offered when you choose the shipping; after midday, delivery is scheduled from the next day.
A delivery takes place from morning until evening, without a fixed slot: the exact hour depends on the round and the town. You can state your preference in the message to the florist, and we take it into account whenever the round allows.
Funeral pieces are the exception: the time of the ceremony sets the time of the delivery.
Something staged? An unusual place, an arrival in the middle of the night, an hour timed to the gesture: these deliveries are arranged around the large bouquets. Call +33 7 66 51 28 82 and we will build the moment with you.
What is the Oscendence range?
Oscendence is the exceptional range of L’Atelier d’Olivier, devoted to outsized pieces: two to five hundred roses mixed with noble seasonal flowers, monumental orchids, extraordinary containers.
These creations start at €3,700 and are for those who want to give a moment people still talk about years later. At that scale, the arrangement is no longer held as a bouquet: it is built stem by stem.
Delivery is included in France, Monaco and Luxembourg for every piece in the range. These pieces usually need at least a full day of preparation in the workshop.
For a wedding, a company, an event
L’Atelier d’Olivier works with private clients as well as companies, hotels and event agencies: weddings, ceremonies, openings, receptions, prestige settings.
Every project is studied with you, from the bridal bouquet to the room pieces, taking the place, the light and the season into account. Describe your project from the wedding section, or call us: it is often quicker.
